Heather Amsden

Heather is the principal of Amsden Consulting which she founded in 2007. She has worked extensively in the nonprofit sector for more than 25 years - both in Washington, DC and Boston - for an array of local and national nonprofit organizations including Share Our Strength and Community Servings (Boston). Her experience as a volunteer coordinator, event manager and fundraiser has informed her perspective and given her unique insight into what nonprofits need to prosper and fulfill their mission. Heather is a member of Women in Development of Greater Boston, the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network, and the Nonprofit Consultants Network. Heather holds a B.A. from Boston University and lives in Newton, MA with her two wonderful children.


Emily Marsh

Emily is the co-owner of Colorbox Industries, a graphic design firm in the Boston area. She is a designer and visual communication expert with 17 years of experience on a wide range of projects. She is passionate about taking complex ideas and distilling them into simple, beautiful, and easy-to-understand graphics. Emily provides design services for many clients of Amsden Consulting. Recent work has included fundraising collateral, logos, marketing materials, and infographics.

From 2005–2016 she worked at the Museum of Science, Boston, designing fun and educational exhibits and experiences for visitors. She recently led the graphic design on the Science Behind Pixar exhibition, a 10,000 sq. ft. highly-interactive, image-rich exhibit focused on the science and math behind Pixar films. This exhibit is currently traveling to museums around the country.

Emily has a B.A. from Oberlin College and a M.A. in Graphic Design from New England School of Art and Design.


Sarah Glatt

Sarah is a seasoned nonprofit consultant with more than eight years of experience supporting organizations' planning and implementation during periods of growth and change.  She partners with Amsden Consulting to provide client support in the areas of strategy, finance, and governance and takes the lead on strategic planning and strategic business planning.  To date, she has worked with more than sixty organizations across the nonprofit sector in the fields of human services, arts and culture, and community-based initiatives.  Sarah holds a B.S. from Brandeis University and a M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.


 Tara Finnegan

Tara is a professional nonprofit financial consultant with over 13 years’ experience in the nonprofit sector.  Her focus is on working with small to mid-size organizations to create sound financial systems, build financial policies and infrastructure, train finance and human resource staff, and manage grants.  Tara has a M.A. in Urban Economics from Northeastern University and a B.A in Financial Economics from Saint Anselm College.  She lives in Winchester, MA with her husband and four energetic young children and is a proud member of the Board of Directors of Generations, Inc.
